    US One Step Closer to Legalizing Internet Gambling
    A bill has passed through the House in the United States that could lift the ban on internet gambling that was brought about by the UIGEA (Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act).

    The November Nine have been named
    After 8 days of regulation play in te 2010 WSOP Main Event the final table, or the November Nine, as they have been dubbed, have been named. The final table will be played out on November 6th. Two years ago WSOP organizers decided to hold off on the ME final table for a couple months to let the players deal with the instant fame that comes along with playing for the most prized title in poker. In order of their chips stack the November Nive are Jonathan Duhamel, John Dolan, Joseph Cheong, John Racener, Matthew Jarvis, Filippo Candio, Michael 'the Grinder' Mizrachi, Cuong 'Soi' Nguyen and Jason Sentl.

    We’re in the Money!
    You can bet that was the thought going through the minds of 747 remaining players in the 2010 WSOP Main Event. The bubble was broken by Tim McDonald. As is tradition, McDonald will get a seat into next year’s $10,000 Main Event for bursting the money bubble.

    WSOP Main Event draws big numbers
    The amount of entrants into the 2010 WSOP has exceeded the expectations of tournament directors. The total number of players who bought into the $10,000 event was 7,319.

    Daniel Alaei wins 2nd Omaha Bracelet
    Congratulations to Daniel Alaei for winning another WSOP bracelet and being named the Pot Limit Omaha World Champion. Alaei won the 55th event this year in which 345 other players bought in for $10K.

    Congratulations to Brendan Taylor – winner of WSOP Event #53
    The 53rd event of the 2010 World Series of Poker ended with Brendan Taylor earning his first WSOP bracelet and more than $180K. The event was a $1,500 Limit Hold’em Shootout in which 548 players entered.

    WSOP Makes 21 yr old a Millionaire
    Dan Kelly is only 21 years old and already, in his first year of being able to play in the WSOP, has won a gold bracelet and cashed in 3 other series events. The latest cash was in Event #52, the $25,000 No Limit Hold’em/ Six Handed where he took home more than $1.3 Million.

    NewTwist to Old WSOP Game
    A few years ago the World Series of Poker did away with rebuy events because some people that those unlimited rebuys favored the pros. This year the WSOP brought back the rebuy event, somewhat. Event #51, the Triple chance No Limit Hold’em event had players buying in for $3,000. Each player got 3,000 chips, and the option for 2 additional stacks of the same size. Players did not have to bust out in order to get the additional chips.

    Chance Kornuth wins WSOP $5K PLO
    It took three days to crown a champ in the $5,000 Pot Limit Omaha, included in that 3 days was a nine hour final table. But it was Colorado native Chance Kornuth who outlasted the other 459 players. This was Kornuth’s first WSOP bracelet as well as his first WSOP cash.

    Third Times a Charm for Linn
    Michael Linn of San Diego, California has won his first WSOP bracelet in the 3rd cash of his WSOP career. Linn is also the nephew of big time poker pro Barry Greenstein. Event #49 was the last of the seven $1,500 No Limit Hold’em events.

    Huck Seed Wins 2010 WSOP Champs Tourney
    The World Series of Poker Tournament of Champions is back after a three year absence. Twenty-seven of the world’s finest No Limit Texas Hold’em players were on hand. Twenty of the players were chosen by popular vote. Of those 27, only the top 9 players will be paid.

    Another WSOP Event Has First Time bracelet Winner
    Congratulations to Sigurd Eskeland of Oslo, Norway for winning the 48th event of the 2010 WSOP, the $2,500 Mixed Event. There were a total of 453 players in the event in which we saw Razz, 2-7 Triple Draw, Limit Hold’em, Pot Limit Omaha, Stud 8, Stud, and No Limit Hold’em.

    WSOP Stimulus Special draws big crowds
    The 47th Event of the 2010 World Series of Poker has been dubbed the ‘Stimulus Special’ game because of its low $1,000 buyin. This year’s event had more than 3,100 players in the field and a total prize pool of more than $2.8 Million. The winner of the event was Shawn Busse, who scored his first WSOP bracelet and almost half a million dollars in prize money.

    NC Poker player wins 1st WSOP gold
    Congratulations to Chris Bell of Raleigh, North Carolina for winning his first World Series of Poker gold bracelet in Event #46, the $5,000 Pot Limit Omaha Hi/Low Split 8 or Better. This was Bell’s 14th WSOP cash.

    WSOP Event #45 - $1,500 No Limit Hold'em
    One more of the 7 $1,500 No Limit Hold’em events has finished. Event #45 saw almost 3,100 players in the field with the prize pool swelling to more than $4.18 Million. This time it was Ohioan Jesse Rockowitz who outlasted the field and took home his first WSOP gold bracelet.

    Gavin Smith wins Mixed Hold'em, Event
    Full Tilt Poker Pro Gavin Smith has earned his first World Series of Poker bracelet in the $2,500 Mixed Hold’em event. Smith bested a field of 507 players to win more than a quarter million in first place prize money. In this event the type of Hold’em would switch between Limit and No Limit during every round of blinds; thirty minutes each.

    HORSE World Champ Crowned
    Congratulations to Ian Gordon from Missoula, Montana for winning his first WSOP bracelet in the $10,000 HORSE World Championship game. For his 1st place finish he picked up more than $600,000.

    Shannon Elizabeth joins Carbon Poker team
    Carbon Poker has announce the newest member of their pro poker team. Actor and poker player Shannon Elizabeth has signed on to represent the online poker room.

    Steve Jelinek wins first WSOP bracelet
    Congratulations to Brit Steve Jelinek for winning his first WSOP bracelet and almost a quarter million dollars. Jelinek won his bracelet in Event #41 of the 2010 WSOP, the $1,500 Pot Limit Omaha Hi/Lo split 8 or Better game.

    Frank Kassela wins his 2nd bracelet in 2010 WSOP
    Frank Kassela has now become the first multiple bracelet winner in the 2010 World Series of Poker after he won the 40th event, the $2,500 7 Card Razz game. It was also the 10th time Kassela cashed in a WSOP game.

    No Limit Hold’em Shootout – Event #39 WSOP
    Congratulations goes out to Californian Steven Kelly who won the $1,500 No Limit Hold’em Shootout, his first WSOP gold bracelet and more than $381K.

    Congratulations to Valdemar Kwaysser, the new Pot Limit Hold’em Champ!
    There were 268 players who entered the 38th event of the 2010 WSOP, but it was Hungarian Kwaysser who won his first bracelet and his 8th WSOP cash. Kwaysser just began playing poker in 2005.

    Ivey wins his 8th WSOP bracelet at the $3K HORSE
    Phil Ivey is arguably the best poker player in the world and his lasted win has solidified that. Ivey won his latest bracelet in the $3,000 HORSE event and his WSOP winnings are now over $5 Million.

    $1K WSOP crowns Canadian victor
    Scott Montgomery of Ontario, Canada was outlasted some 3,101 players in Event #36, the $1,000 No Limit Hold’em game. For his victory, Montgomery won $481K and his 1st WSOP bracelet. This was his 9th cash in a WSOP event.

    Congratulations to Ayaz Mahmood – Heads up NLHE Champ!
    Ayaz Mahmood of Sugarland, TX won Event #35 of the 2010 WSOP, the $10,000 Heads Up No Limit Hold’em Championship. Along with the gold WSOP bracelet, Mahmood also won $625,682.
